The Octopus Challenge, a high-definition documentary, will be presented on Saturday, February 23, at 2 p.m. in Caltech’s Beckman Auditorium. This program is part of Caltech’s Science Saturdays series.
The Octopus Challenge is a high-definition movie that explores the abilities of octopi. Following the movie, discussion leaders Matt Gethers and Stephanie Barnes will involve the audience in activities that will simulate the experience of being an octopus. They will also use that experience to show how octopi can inspire new technology.
Gethers and Barnes are graduate students at Caltech studying bioenginerring. They will introduce the film and guide the post-screening discussion. Recommended for ages 8 and up.
Tickets to this performance are priced at $5.00 (unreserved seating). Tickets can be purchased at the Caltech Ticket Office, 332 South Michigan Avenue, Pasadena.
