Velvet Revolver to play charity concert

VELVET REVOLVER's visit to the Minneapolis-St. Paul area this Wednesday in connection with their LIBERTAD album will include a very special charity event in addition to their headlining performance at the Xcel Energy Center. The band will be holding a fundraising event at the Fine Line Music Café (318 First Avenue North, Minneapolis) after the show in honor of drummer MATT SORUM's brother Daniel who passed away earlier this year at age 11 from brain-stem cancer. Proceeds from the event will go to the Daniel J. Sorum Memorial Scholarship Fund, which will benefit students at the school he attended: The Willmar Community Christian School.
Tickets for this VIP event--which will include a silent auction with items from VELVET REVOLVER and tour mates Alice In Chains--will be sold for $100 at the door and next to the VR merch booth at the band's show at Xcel Energy Center earlier that evening. Doors for the benefit open at 11:30 PM.
