Scottish benefit for "On The Day" at Beckham Grill Aug. 2

The L.A. Scotch Club will present an evening of film, food, and Scottish flair on Sunday, August 2nd at Pasadena’s Beckham Grill. Proceeds of the event will go towards the completion of local filmmaker John McDonald’s latest venture, "On The Day." The feature-length documentary follows the story of the Spirit of Scotland Pipe Band, a group assembled from the world’s top solo bagpipers to compete in last year’s World Pipe Band Championships. McDonald, a piper himself, has passionately dedicated the past year to finishing the film, relying almost entirely on donations from individuals and Scottish organizations. More about the film at www.onthedaymovie.com .

Guests will be treated to a special sneak peek of "On The Day," which premieres in Scotland next month. In addition to the screening, a choice of meals will be served, with musical entertainment provided by the Pasadena Scottish Pipes and Drums. A scotch tasting before the event will also offer a selection of ten premium single malts to those in need of a "wee dram." For anyone with an appreciation of Scottish culture and heritage, this is a night not to be missed! Kilts optional.

Scotch tasting begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. Tickets cost $45 for scotch tasting, $45 for dinner, or $80 for both, and can be purchased online at www.lascotchclub.com.
