Spanish Gamble to work on album between tour dates

Paper + Plastick Recording artist SPANISH GAMBLE are about to make recording interesting by sandwiching studio time between tour dates, ensuring that they're in the mood, and away from distractions.

"When you are gone on the road playing music after a few days you get into a different mindset, a band mindset, if you will, and that's what we needed to make this happen," says Colin (guitar, vox), "Everyones gotta be focused and tight musically and personally."

For their first full-length album, Spanish Gamble got some help with the writing process from Roger Manganelli (Less Than Jake) at his own Moat House Studios.

"We spent two days just playing the songs for him and he bounced ideas and suggestions off of us and we would then lay down a demo with the changes in the song," explains Colin."We enjoyed it a lot and it has certainly paid off to have worked with him even for such a brief period of time."

As a special treat for their fans, Spanish Gamble will be releasing two of these demos on The Moat House Sessions EP available FREE exclusively at Paper+Plastick.com.

Recording will be taking place at Oakland, CA's Sharkbite Studios and sitting in the producer's chair is Ryan Massey (of American Steele).

"We have always loved his music/recordings and I think he has a like minded approach to music as us so he was one of my first choices to work with," says Colin.

The tour (see dates below) begins by combing the southern United States and hitting stops like Las Cruces, NM and Austin, TX. Once the group hits California, they go straight into the studio for two weeks and as soon as they're done, continue on to hit mid-western markets like Denver, CO and Nashville, TN. There is no set support act but Spanish Gamble will be sharing the bill with acts such as Madison Bloodbath, Vultures United, Blacklist Royals and Tiltwheel.

According to Colin, "Our set right now consists of almost all new material. We still play older songs for people who ask but as an artist you are always the most excited about the newer songs."
