J Brazil releases Cyndi Lauper song remake

J Brazil is here with a bang, releasing an unexpected remake of Cyndi Lauper’s legendary “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". His brand new single “Girl I’m Tryin” is a certified pop anthem for the single fellas, reworking the original song from a male point of view. The infectious melodies and lyrics come to life with club-banging kick drums and sizzling synths, making it the perfect weekend party hit.

About J Brazil:
J Brazil’s journey to pop stardom is quite the unique fairytale. Raised in a strict Orthodox Jewish home, with very little exposure to the outside world, he had never even watched TV. J Brazil’s first musical influences came from his father, a world-renowned Jewish music composer. He sang with his family, learned the drums and piano, and wrote his first song at age 6. From that moment he was hooked to music for life. At age 14, following the untimely death of his mother, J Brazil rebelled and ran away from home. Although he encountered extreme hardships living on the streets, he experienced startling revelations when suddenly exposed to music he had never heard before. Falling in love with hip-hop, reggae, and rock, he fused these influences with his Middle Eastern and Hasidic musical foundations.

He traveled the U.S. like a nomad, homeless but with a dream. Scraping together cash to fund his recording career, he released his first album at age 21. Still looking for his big break, he Googled music executives’ information, knocking down their doors to get his music heard. Despite the frustration, he always maintained a vivacious, upbeat attitude. Finally, in 2009, using the last of his money, he and producer Eric Sanicola penned “Girl I’m Tryin,” which labels instantly recognized as a smash single.

J Brazil’s rich baritone voice is at times reminiscent of Sean Paul, but with an utterly unique style that is his own. Seemingly full of contradictions, with an eclectic musical background combined with a geek chic fashion sense (his bow tie and glasses are a signature) and comedic personality, J Brazil is a truly distinctive artist. His spontaneous energy brings every room alive, from the studio to the stage. Never afraid to speak his mind, never taking the safe route, J Brazil approaches his music with a do-or-die zest for life. He is a diligent artist and prolific songwriter who brings a fresh new edge and character to pop music.
