This Thanksgiving, why not schedule a gathering at Descanso Gardens? Enjoy a relaxing stroll through the autumn trees – or work off that holiday meal. The Gardens will be open Nov. 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $8 adults, $6 senior/students, and $3 children 5 to 12. Children under 5 enter free.
Patina Catering will serve a bountiful Thanksgiving feast in Van de Kamp Hall at noon and 2 p.m. Enjoy a sumptuous holiday meal in a Craftsman setting – and leave the clean up to someone else!
The menu includes:
First course selection: Butternut squash soup with toasted pepitas; fresh seasonal fruit; winter green salad with goat cheese, cranberries and raspberry vinaigrette
Main course selection: Roasted turkey basted, wild mushroom butter, white wine gravy, herb-apple stuffing, yam and Yukon Gold potato gratin, JBS potato purée, homemade whole cranberry compote, warm rolls, cornbread and sweet honey butter
Dessert selection: Homemade apple and peach cobblers, spiced pumpkin pie
Dinner is $45 for the general public, $37 for Descanso members. Children 4 to 12, $15.95. Free for children 3 and younger. Reservations required: (818) 790-3663.
