Epica to kick off tourTuesday

Holland’s symphonic metal band EPICA will be returning to North America once again to headline a tour in support of their 2009 release, Design Your Universe, which debuted on the Billboard Heatseekers chart at #12 and the Top Hard Music Albums chart at #47 for first-week sales in excess of 2,000 copies. Also on the bill are the Swedish masters of melody Scar Symmetry and Canada’s Blackguard.

“The album title, Design Your Universe, deals with new breakthroughs in quantum physics,” states founding member/guitarist/songwriter Mark Jansen. “It proves that we are all connected to each other on subatomic level. Also, it shows that we can create or at least influence matter with our thoughts… a very interesting fact. Because it changes everything for us, our whole worldview collapses once you accept these facts and integrate them in your lives.”
