papercranes will kick off an LA residency at Bordello this Wednesday, November 3rd with Jenny O. opening the first show.
Anchored by lead singer and songwriter Rain Phoenix, papercranes will be previewing material from their forthcoming album Let’s Make Babies in the Woods. Out January 2011 on Manimal Vinyl (Bat For Lashes, Warpaint, Juliette Commagere), the album is a mesmerizing mix of gritty folk, propulsive rhythms, and orchestral expansiveness. Phoenix’s voice drips with emotion and on the turn of a dime can shift from an airy whisper to a shiver-inducing, raspy wail.

Also performing will be the irresistable pop chanteuse, Jenny O. Originally from New York, Jenny O. was raised on 60's and 70's rock harmony, and began singing professionally in cover bands as a teenager. She has appeared on recordings by Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Chris Garneau, The LA Ladies Choir, and more. She also often sings backup at live shows with friends like Rain Phoenix, Becky Stark, and Jonathan Wilson. Expect to hear much more from Jenny O. very, very soon!
