Rock the Kasbah to supprot Virgin Unite and the Eve Branson Foundation Thursday in LA

Sir Richard Branson and Eve Branson will once again Rock the Kasbah in Los Angeles on Thursday, November 11 at the 4th annual fundraising gala in support of Virgin Unite, the non profit foundation of the Virgin Group, and The Eve Branson Foundation. The event will take place at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in downtown Los Angeles and will be co-sponsored by Virgin America – the California-based airline that is reinventing flying. This unforgettable evening will commence with a cocktail reception, and feature a dinner prepared by critically acclaimed Patina Group chefs; a live auction with exclusive experiences; dancing and live performances by three Grammy Award winning artists - Colbie Caillat, Common and Robin Thicke.

“Following a successful and fun event last year, my mother and I could not be more excited to be rocking the Kasbah in Los Angeles again this year,” said Sir Richard Branson. “This year’s event will be sure to top previous years, with all proceeds benefitting The Eve Branson Foundation, which helps improve the lives of women and young girls in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco through education, business and health care as well as our foundation Virgin Unite, which helps create opportunities for vulnerable young people here in the US.”

David Bakelman, CEO of StandUp For Kids, a long-time partner of Virgin Unite commented, “We continue to rely on the support, direction and vision of Virgin Unite as experts and thought leaders in making measureable impact on youth homelessness issues.”

This year’s Rock the Kasbah gala will feature a diverse selection of auction items such as the chance to bid on a once in a lifetime opportunity to name one of Virgin America’s brand new Airbus A320 commercial aircraft. In addition, unique experience packages will be up for bid including joining Sir Richard Branson on a visit to see first hand the Virgin Unite programs in South Africa ending with an incredible safari adventure at Ulusaba, his Private Game Reserve. Other items up for auction include the opportunity to visit the set of Multi-Award winning television phenomenon Glee with the star of the TV series and Virgin Unite Ambassador, Cory Monteith; an amazing weekend in Napa where the winning bidder will join the editors of the Robb Report in selecting the 2012 Car of the Year; and the chance to join Sir Richard Branson and some of the world’s leading thinkers and scholars from The Oxford Martin School on Necker Island, Branson’s home and favorite hideaway, to discuss the biggest challenges and opportunities facing people and the planet.
