Los Angeles cutting-edge vocal collective Sonos deliver December Songs on November 9 in the U.S. via an iTunes excusive through bigHelium. Physical copies of the album will be available on November 9 through Amazon and CD Baby, via Super D at local indie stores and on tour beginning in November. The digital release goes wide through all retailers November 23.

From the opening moments of “Ave Maria,” the soaring vocals of Rachel Bearer, Ben McLain, Chris Harrison, Jessica Freedman, Paul Peglar and Katharine Anne Hoye conjure a magical make-over of the ‘holiday’ genre, defying all expectations. December Songs transcends season with imaginative original compositions sure to become instant classics (“Come December,” “Home”) alongside innovative arrangements of Christmas favorites (“Greensleeves” and “O Holy Night”).

Emerging last fall from the college a cappella scene, Sonos turned the genre on its head with bold interpretations of 21st century classics. On their Verve debut SonoSings, the vocal group reinvented Radiohead, Bon Iver & Fleet Foxes and dazzled with unique twists on the mainstream such as a melancholy, tripped-out Jackson 5 cover. In 2009, Sonos won the CASA award for Best Pop/Rock song of the year, for that recording of “I Want You Back,” and numerous ACAs (A cappella Community Awards) including Best Group, Album, Song and Vocalist.
