Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer to release new children's album

Musicians and authors Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer have nearly three decades of success in the world of award-winning children's music. The two Maryland-based musicians, who met on tour at the Toronto Folk Festival in 1980, have cemented their reputation atop the educational songwriting world with Grammy Awards, National Association of Parenting Publications Awards, Early Childhood News Awards, and Washington Area Music Association Awards that attest to the superb quality of their work.

On 'Sing To Your Baby' (out May 3, 2011) Cathy and Marcy have written and recorded eleven new love songs and sing-plays that parents can use to further develop their special bond with their children. Packaged with a 32-page, beautifully illustrated book, 'Sing To Your Baby' serves as coach for both moms and dads who want to sing to encourage communication with their babies.

Trailblazers in the art of creating video lessons for children and adults that bring musical skill and fun into their lives, Fink and Marxer also frequently host workshops for teachers, educators, librarians, music therapists and parents to give them practical education on baby communication and its direct relation to song. Both Fink and Marxer are trained musicians who play dozens of instruments. The pair sing, yodel, finger pick, strum, beat and scat. Together they've performed over 5,000 shows everywhere from folk festivals to elementary schools, and have appeared in Congress on behalf of the State Children's Health Insurance Program.
