Kevin J Thornton, musician, storyteller and stand-up comic will be will be making his west coast premiere at the Cavern Club Celebrity Theater with his brand new one man hilariousness “I Love You (We’re F*#ked)” April 15 (Friday) and April 16 (Saturday) at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 and are available at www.kevinjthornton.com or at the door the night of the show.

This tight, fast paced 60 minute routine showcases Thornton’s signature style of concert, storytelling and stand-up comedy. It’s a tale of lost love spun into a hilariously absurd odyssey. The hero knows he must move on but must first look back and ask “how the hell did I get here?” The show features an original score from Thornton’s new album “January Dream” and topics such as the 80’s, sexuality (Thornton is an openly gay man) and religion are all part of the performance.

Thornton first explored this style of performance in his 2009 show "Sex, Dreams & Self Control" which Frontiers called “funny and poignant” and the Washington, D.C., City Paper said it was “new, refreshing territory.” After spending a year in the LA stand-up comedy scene his new piece became a little grittier and less scripted.

Thornton wears many hats being an up and coming comedian, author (Sex, Dreams & Self Control, The Book), and a successful playwright he’s also the front man for pop band Waves On Waves. Chris Mooney, at TuneCore recognized Thornton’s musical talents and requested his September 2010 single, “There is Only Time” be included on “Experience Music, A TuneCore Pop Sampler.” which features 14 other artists including Andrew Belle, Katie Costello and Ben Rector.

“There is Only Time” has been re-recorded on Thornton’s upcoming “January Dream” which is produced by Grammy nominated Marc Chevalier. The release comes right in time for Thornton’s upcoming new show and tour. As in 2009 with his first one-person coming out fantasy, Thornton returns to Fringe Festivals nation-wide however this time some of the shows will be streamed live via Ustream.tv. This live interactive broadcast platform allows Thornton to interact with the online audience giving the show another spontaneous dimension.

After LA, Thornton makes his premiere in Orlando, Kansas, Minnesota and San Francisco Fringe Festivals along with a return to DC’s Capital Fringe, Indy Fringe and the Cincinnati Fringe Festival. As well, Thornton has been invited to perform at the Mobile, Alabama Pride Fest. Thornton started his tour at the Frigid New York Festival and debuts in Arizona at the Tucson Fringe Festival before appearing at the Cavern Club Celebrity Theater.

Thornton has a Podcast, “Strange Dreamz with Kevin J Thornton”, an active blog www.kevinjthornton.com and a business blog with manager Carol Buttenham. Thornton and Buttenham discuss their insights on the entertainment business and what has worked for them creating the Kevin J Thornton brand, touring and being successful through social media at www.famousontheinside.com.
