Nrityagram Dance Ensemble at Caltech April 2

Nrityagram Dance Ensemble will perform on Saturday, April 2, at 8 p.m. in Caltech’s Beckman Auditorium.

The ensemble blends Odissi, a traditional Indian dance form, with contemporary concepts. Odissi is a dance of love and passion, in a synthesis of divinity and humanity that has its origins in the temples of Orissa in North East India. Although steeped in and dedicated to ancient practice, Nrityagram dancers not only develop new work, which explores creative ways to expand on tradition, but also commission music from leading composers of Indian classical music.

Tickets to this performance are priced at $26.00, $21.00, and $16.00; youth (high school age and younger): $10.00. Senior rush tickets will go on sale for $10.00, beginning one-half hour before the performance (subject to availability). Tickets can be purchased at the Caltech Ticket Office, 332 S. Michigan Ave., Pasadena.

Parking for Beckman Auditorium is located at 332 S. Michigan Ave., Pasadena (south of Del Mar Boulevard). For further information, call the Caltech Ticket Office at (626) 395-4652.
