Open mic poetry March 27 in La Canada

Moonday East, the newly opened sister of Moonday in the Village, will be featuring poet Neil McCarthy on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 2 pm at the beautiful Flintridge Bookstore in La CaƱada, CA.

Moonday is hosted by Alice Pero and Lois P. Jones. The reading will take place on the
3th Sunday of every month (with March as an exception) from 2 to 4 pm. There will be a feature and open mic. Come early to sign up for the open.

Neil McCarthy is an Austrian-based Irish poet who the has read as a guest speaker in Australia, the UK, Ireland, Austria, the US, Poland, Hungary, Romania and the Czech Republic, in lecture halls, embassies and bookshops. He is a graduate of the National University of Ireland, Galway, where he studied literature and has since published three chapbooks of poetry, the latest of which, Seven Cities, is in its 3rd printing. His work has been praised as “evidence that the inspired written word can come alive in performance, a modern day bard.”

Flintridge Bookstore and Coffeehouse is located at 1010 Foothill Blvd., La Canada Flintridge CA 91011, at the intersection of Foothill Blvd. and the Angeles Crest Highway.
