Photographer Annie Fourgette shows and urges you to help Japan

Just dropping a quick line to let you all know what's going on with exhibits this month. First is the Pasadena Society of Artist Exhibit in Silver Lake. While I'm not exhibiting in the main hall my works are hung in the gift shop. This is a great exhibit featuring many artists of this wonderful organization.

This exhibit runs through the end of the month and is open on weekends; Friday 6-9 pm, Saturday and Sundays 1-9pm.
Located at the Citibank building:
CITIBANK SILVERLAKE GALLERY
located at Citibank Silverlake Branch
2450 Glendale Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90039

You can park in the bank parking lot and walk around to the back of the building through the gates. Trust me; it's there!

The second exhibit is also a Pasadena Society of Artist exhibit featuring the new members from the 2010 juries. This exhibit is at the Towns Burr Gallery located at 3609 West Magnolia Blvd. In Burbank (91505).

Lastly, but most importantly, I am working on a commerative piece to support the victims of the horrible disasters that have unfolded, and are still unfolding in Japan. I will post this piece to the website in the coming days. All proceeds from sales from this piece will go directly to the Japanese Red Cross via Google (http://www.google.com/crisisresponse/japanquake2011.html ).

I've chosen to donate the funds directly to the Red Cross via Google as the money will be immediately transferred without the red-tape or cost of transferring funds.

There are also 5 ways you can support the animal victims. They are listed below. Whether you choose to purchase a print or not, I hope you will all consider donating to these people and animals.

1. Donate to the Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue and Support Group.
The Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue and Support is a collaboration of 3 No-Kill animal welfare organizations in Japan; HEART-Tokushima, Animal Friends Niigata and Japan Cat Network.

2. The Animal Refuge Kansai has also set up a fund for their shelters. They're currently preparing for an influx of animals from disaster areas. Click HERE to donate.

3. The Animal Miracle Foundation & Network is collecting cell phones to send to volunteers.
"We are collecting cell phones to send to the volunteers helping animals in Japan. Many volunteers don't have phones and need them to effectively communicate with each other."

4. The Search Dog Foundation is deploying six canine disaster search teams to assist with the rescues. You can find out how you can help on their website.

5. Join the Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue and Support Facebook group for up-to-date information on how to help.

I truly believe they have given their souls to teach the world a lesson. Remember, there but by the grace of God go we.

Hope to see some of you out at the galleries soon,
Annie
