Coffee Gallery Backstage seeks donations

The Coffee Gallery Backstage
2029 N. Lake
Altadena, CA.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT . This is our future.
You have often said to us, “thank you for doing what you do.” You appreciate the years of enjoyment we bring to our stage. Now we need help. Not to pay our bills but to satisfy requirements to the The County Of Los Angeles for parking and entertainment permits. This is for our survival.

Angels and Music Fans....We need a series of Fund Raisers . The Coffee Gallery and The Coffee Gallery Backstage has to raise $20,000 for a Conditional Use Permit (C.U.P) and a Parking Variance to keep our Entertainment License and continue in operation.

We are in a mixed use residental/business area. The County requires a survey to approve parking and operating as an entertainment venue. The County is cooperating with us but we must file paper work and pay for a survey of the area. It is the law and we must go through this about every 15 years. This single night’s income from ticket sales will not get us all the money we need, but it will help and we are pursuing other avenues of donations. Help us continue our good work in music and quality entertainment. Right now we have a deadline of February 15.

A lot of money to raise in a short time...

Come to this event with SALTY SUITES...with Special Guest....Singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers who has played her own brand of acoustic folk all over Los Angeles, including the Troubadour, the El Rey, the Roxy, Genghis Cohen and the Grand Ole Echo. Hometown Pasadena called her a "local treasure." Phoebe is an engaging performer for such a young singer, and her own songs are mature and insightful. Phoebe is currently studying music at Los Angeles County High School for the Arts.

Salty Suites..... Scott Gates, Chuck Hailes and Chelsea Williams. They live in the world of live acoustic music, sharing a passion for roots and bluegrass, as well as traditional mountain music. Scott Gates is as close to a musical prodigy on the mandolin as you will ever meet and now plays guitar with the same fire and brilliance. Having performed all over the country and with artists as varied as John McEuen, Nathan McEuen, Steve Martin, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Kenny Loggins and a virtual Who's-Who of bluegrass players, Scott has started writing music.

Chuck Hailes, is one of the top bass players in the country, schooled in classical and jazz bass playing and techniques. Chuck writes his own music and has teamed with Scott to create many new musical gems. With his background in bluegrass music, and degree in the Upright Bass, Chuck sings and plays in a way that is uniquely his own.

Chelsea Williams has been writing and performing her own music since she was 13 years old. While some of her early songs are still hits with her fans, she has continued to develop as a writer penning nearly 100 original songs to date. Chelsea currently makes her living by playing on the street for tips and selling a home-made demo, having sold thousands of CDs in recent months, one-by-one, simply on her own on the street.

Wednesday, February 8. Show @ 8:00 P. M. Tixs: $18 .

SALTY SUITES, CHELSEA WILLIAMS and PHOEBE BRIDGERS are donating 100% of the ticket sales to our County permits fund raiser. Any donations in excess of the ticket price will be much appreciated.
