One of the UK’s most buzzed about artists, Rumer, will be releasing her album “Seasons Of My Soul - which has already hit the top 10 in numerous countries overseas, in the US January 24th.
Rumer kicks off her US tour tomorrow in LA (see dates below) .
Rumer’s sound is an incredible throwback to early singer/songwriters. She has a timeless jazz-soul tinged voice with a musical styling that has drawn comparisons to artists like Carole King, Dusty Springfield & Karen Carpenter. Rumer has already worked with and been publicly praised by legendary artists such as Burt Bacharach, Elton John & Carly Simon! Her album, Seasons of My Soul received extensive critical praise. Rumer's nontraditional musical upbringing has shaped her classic yet contemporary sound. Born in Pakistan and the youngest of seven children living in an expat colony without TV or newspapers, Rumer and her family would often sing and write songs together. There Rumer acquired her first guitar; which she taught herself to play, and years later, she wrote all the songs on Seasons of My Soul. Seasons of My Soul is a stunning, autobiographical yet astoundingly universal record.
Rumer will be in the U.S. touring throughout Jan-Feb of 2012 (see attached press release and below for dates). She was recently featured in the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS as one of the “Best Live Shows of 2011” and as one of 2012’s Best Upcoming Album Releases.
