Chief among the many benefits of yoga is the way it helps us align with our true nature. What better place to do that than in the natural splendor of the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden.

Yoga practice is beneficial whenever and wherever it is practiced, but the energy of the Arboretum provides an ineffable something extra making it more transcendent.  No matter what challenges I may be experiencing in my life, after teaching a class in this incomparable paradise I always leave feeling uplifted and restored.

I love yoga at The Arboretum!” exclaims Margaret Page.  “I have taken yoga classes at a gym for about 10 years, looking up at a water-stained ceiling.  Yoga under majestic trees and blue skies is a whole different experience, enhanced by the song of the birds and the occasional sighting of a curious rabbit.”

This year we have decided to celebrate the seasonal changes in the Arboretum with four Saturday workshops.  Our connection with nature as the earth makes its progress around the sun can be subtle as well as profound.  To align ourselves with these transitions, we will engage in quarterly 1 ½ half hour workshops which will include asanas, vinyasas, mudras, mantras and guided meditations suited to each season. They will take place on or near the 2013 vernal (spring) equinox, summer solstice, autumnal equinox and winter solstice.

Insights into how the seasons impact the flora and fauna of the Arboretum will also be included in these events.
