Saturday Afternoon Cafe concerts in Sierra Madre in July

Picture a lazy summer afternoon with a cool and shady spot, soft music, a little poetry, and a good book. Then picture yourself at the Sierra Madre Public Library for Saturday Afternoon CafĂ© Sounds on July 13 and July 27 at 4:00 p.m.

Relax to light acoustic music with the Summer Reading Program theme of Reading is So Delicious! The programs will feature a spoken word artist traci kato-kiriyama on both days, musician Connie Lim on July 13 and musician Liane Tominaga on July 27.

July 13- traci and Connie
traci kato-kiriyama is a multi-disciplinary performing artist, writer, and actor who's been touring the country since 1996 through shows, theatre collaborations, performance tours, speaking and teaching engagements.  She is the co-founder and director of Tuesday Night Project, a grassroots group that builds "art+community" initiatives.

Connie Lim was named one of the hottest unsigned live acts to watch for in Music Connection Magazine’s December 2012 issue. She has a warm vocal tone, eclectic pop songwriting, unexpected lyrics, and hypnotic melodies inspired by rock, folk, and electronica. Connie was a top 60 contestant on NBC's 1st season of The Voice.

July 27- traci and Liane
Liane Tominaga has knack for penning songs that soak in life's every moment of triumph and sorrow. Her genuine and timeless lyrics ride on the tails of catchy pop melodies and her music compares to Taylor Swift, Colbie Caillat and James Taylor for her guitar work and pure and soulful vocals. Liane is working on a new album.

The Sierra Madre Public Library is located at 440 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. in the city of Sierra Madre, 91024, (626) 355-7186, www.cityofsierramadre.com.
