Michael Marcus - New York born/L.A. hazed and still here to talk about it. Michael has been everything in Hollywood from a military-trained dope fiend to a gangster/crackhead/drug dealer to a stockbroker/money launderer to a storyteller/comedian/ scriptwriter. He is always looking for the comedy in even the most brutal reality life has to offer. He is working on a book that Punk Hostage Press will be hoping to publish by the end of the year.
Carlye Archibeque - Carlye is a sociologist and Los Angeles native raised by wolves. A confessional poet by design, she uses the word to play with her inner demons and entertain the multitudes. She works at the venerable Beyond Baroque and has been a supporter of the press from the beginning. Punk Hostage Press will be putting out a collection of her poems very soon.
Danny Baker - Danny was raised in L.A. in a storm of turmoil that landed him right in the middle of the 80's punk rock scene as a wild teen in the streets. He would move to New York and transform himself into a successful mover and shaker on Wall Street. Years later he developed his talent for writing as a way to balance the intensity and duality of his existence. His first book of poems, Fractured, was coincidentally the first book released on Punk Hostage Press in 2012.
Yvonne de la Vega - is a poetry & music recording artist that has recorded spoken word with numerous great names in the music/recording industry, including tracks produced by Ray Manzarek of The Doors, she features on "Jump Street" with Herb Alpert, (A&M Records) a Spoken Word and hip hop single. She appears on Malcolm McClaren's "Round The Outside, Round The Outside" album (Virgin Records), and several spoken word recordings for New Alliance Records, sharing album credit with Amiri Baraka, Michael McClure, Wanda Coleman and others. From Punk Hostage Press, she is the author of the newly released "Tomorrow Yvonne- Poetry & Prose for Suicidal Egotists".
Rich Ferguson - Rich Ferguson has shared the stage with Patti Smith, Wanda Coleman, Bob Holman, Ozomotli, as well as many other esteemed poets and musicians. He has performed at the NYC Fringe Festival, the Bowery Poetry Club, and is a featured performer in the film What About Me? He has been published in the LA TIMES, Opium, and has been widely anthologized. Ferguson is a Pushcart-nominated poet, and a contributor and poetry editor to The Nervous Breakdown. His poetry collection 8th & Agony is now available on Punk Hostage.
Dennis Cruz - Dennis is a Los Angeles native who has been writing prose, poetry and fiction for over 20 years. Born in San Jose, Costa Rica, his family immigrated to the U.S. when he was just an infant. His work has been featured on public radio stations KPFK and KXLU, and he has performed extensively throughout the Los Angeles area. He has featured his work in man Los Angeles literary establishments, including: Beyond Baroque, Skylight Books and The World Stage. He was also selected as one of the newer poets to watch by the ALOUD series at the Los Angeles Public Library. His newest book, Moth Wing Tea, is just now being released on Punk Hostage Press.
Beah and Ceci Romero were born and raised in Silverlake (LA) and have been writing songs together since they can remember. These twin sisters share a creative flare and passion for music. Constantly continuing to experiment with their sound, their songwriting is inspired by life experiences; ranging from soft acoustic to punk, blues and rock n' roll.
