Dana Fuchs stars as a rocker in "Across the Universe"

See Dana Fuchs in her starring role in "Across The Universe," (Sony Pictures) the highly anticipated new motion picture from maverick director Julie Taymor (The Lion King, Titus, Frida). Premiering September 10 at The Toronto Film Festival, in U.S. theaters September 14, 2007.

Dana mesmerizes in the role of Sadie, the rock star, in the ensemble cast of this groundbreaking musical set to Beatles' songs. Dana's extraordinary voice can be heard throughout the film performing iconic Beatles tunes "Oh, Darling," "Dear Prudence," "Why Don't We Do It In The Road?," "Don't Let Me Down," and the most stirring and pivotal musical moment in the film, "Helter Skelter."

Dana is in extraordinary company, sharing the silver screen with Bono, Joe Cocker, Evan Rachel Wood, Jim Sturgess, Eddy Izzard and many others.

Along with the movie premiere, Dana is set to release her first-ever Live CD/DVD combo "Dana Fuchs Band Live from New York City," featuring a bluesy roots-rock set list of brand new songs and material culled from her critically acclaimed debut independent CD "Lonely For A Lifetime."

Ask Dana why she chose to release a live recording rather than a second studio CD and she has this to say: "Live performance is the way I get to truly spill my soul and connect with an audience. I love being in the studio and creating, but in live performance, every second is a new creation."

Many of you Manhattanites may already recognize Dana from her lead role as Janis Joplin in the 2003 off-Broadway hit "Love, Janis," the story of Janis Joplin, from the music's point of view, lovingly inspired by the book written by Janis' sister Laura. Dana is indeed a versatile talent.

Tour dates are being planned and confirmed - and Dana is already scheduled to perform at selected Hard Rock Café's throughout the month of October to raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
