Portugal. The Man tour is selling out

Portugal. The Man's just-released album "Church Mouth" (July 24, Fearless) put the band onto the Billboard charts for the first time in their career - and not on just one chart, but FOUR. "Church Mouth" debuted at lucky #13 on Billboard's Top Alternative New Artists chart, at #30 on the Top New Artist Chart, #65 on the Independent Label Chart, and came in at #90 on the Top Hard Music Albums chart.
In addition, dates on the band's current 33-city North American headline tour have either been sold out or near-sold out with the trio - John Baldwin Gourley (vocals, guitars, synthesizers, programming), Zachary Scott Carothers (bass, vocals, percussion), and Jason Sechrist (drums, congas, percussion, vocals) - amassing new fans at every show.
And the media - national, regional, local, and online - has fallen hard for Portugal. The Man and "Church Mouth" as evidenced by these reviews:

FOUR-AND-A-HALF STARS - Alternative Press

".compelling music that's actually worth the buzz it's generating." - OC Weekly

"Portugal. The Man suggests the sort of thing a young Led Zeppelin might have done in 2007..." - Arizona Republic

"['Church Mouth' is] guaranteed to take every respective listener's breath away, just like the sprawling, glacier-dotted landscapes of the band's native Alaska." - AntiMusic.com

Portugal. The Man's unique sound has its roots firmly in front man/songwriter Gourley's abstract vision and unique upbringing. Gourley was raised in a remote log cabin on the outskirts of Wasilla, Alaska that was powered by a generator and had no phone. His mom and dad doubled as a team of dog sled mushers. Add in an extended period of homelessness, a love of science fiction and a desire to make music that does not sound like every other band, and the genesis of Portugal. The Man was formed. Gourley and childhood friend Carothers formed P.TM in 2003 with Portland, OR's Sechrist joining in 2005.
To this day, P.TM employs a rotating cast of guest musicians outside of the core three. Gourley is also an accomplished visual artist having created the stunning artwork for the "Church Mouth" package as well as PTM's previous releases, tour posters, t-shirts and other items.
