Universol's latest CD is entitled "Concrete Music," possibly because the tracks consist of rock solid material. The product is a street smart Hip Hop mixture. "Concrete Music" The Street LP, as Team Radio Wreck likes to call it, is good enough to secure Universol's nomination for the Underground Music Awards "Most Original Artist of the Year" award.
The 5th annual Urban Threshold Underground Music Awards will be presented on Sunday, August 12, 2007, at the B.B. King Concert Hall located at Times Square in New York City.
In addition, he is in the semi-finals of the Disc Makers Independent Music World Series (Northeast Region), set for August 23rd, also in New York City.
He's ventured as far west as Seattle, WA to get the word out on the Hip Hop 101 TV, sharing air-time with Daddy-O from the first original Hip Hop band, Stetsasonic. Universol set the course for his career when he and his brother, Rob Young, a Marketing graduate from Kean University, formed Team Radio Wreck and released 4 consecutive Street LPs since 2004. "Concrete Music" the latest of compilations was released on the streets September of 2006 and then re-released on iTunes, April of 2007. Now, with nearly 10,000 units sold and distributed between four different compilations, the recent nominations, an increasing fan base world wide, and a growing respect and admiration in the Hip Hop world, Universol is proving to be a legitimate force in the industry.
Universol's originality, dedication to the artist imagery, quality live performance and strong, honest business ethics, separates him from other artists. With support from his organization he has increased his mass appeal and become very marketable. Universol is definitely on the concrete road to success.
