This fall, AmieStreet.com, with the support of Eclipse® gum, offers one musician or band an opening act showcase at New York City's CMJ Music Marathon in October, plus a $10,000 stipend to continue to make their dream happen.
The Eclipse® Sets the Stage music search kicks-off on Monday, August 20th, 2007 on the social networking-propelled digital music site AmieStreet.com. The competition offers one Amie Street musician or band an opening act showcase at this October's CMJ Music Marathon. CMJ Music Marathon is a five-day music festival that helped launch the careers of some serious talent like... Arcade Fire, Black Eyed Peas, Green Day, Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Eminem, The Killers and R.E.M.
No matter what the band's style -- hip hop, screamo, reggaeton or just plain indie rock -- Eclipse gum and AmieStreet.com are looking for them. And if the showcase wasn't enough, the lucky winner will get a paid trip to New York City to live like a rock star at one of the most legendary hotels in New York - The Chelsea Hotel - plus a $10,000 stipend to help them keep rocking after CMJ.
We're not just giving all the glory to bands, either. Die-hard music fans have an opportunity to participate by voting for their favorite bands on the site. And, they can win a pair of tickets to the winning band's concert event.
Voting starts August 25th and goes through August 29th, but all bands must be registered by August 24th. A panel of judges from AmieStreet.com, CMJ Music Marathon and Eclipse gum will determine the semi-finalists. A final round of online voting will take place - from September 5th through September 13th. The winner of the Eclipse Sets the Stage music search will be announced on September 14th, 2007!
