Billy Bragg on tour

Celebrated rebel folk singer Billy Bragg, aptly described as the "one man Clash," will be bringing his impassioned live act stateside for some spirited live performances. The outing will include an entirely fitting stop at the 50th anniversary staging of the renowned Newport Folk Festival, prior site of legendary performances by Johnny Cash, Howlin' Wolf and Bob Dylan.

There will also be the much anticipated US debut of Beethoven Bragg in which the fiery folkie has rewritten the libretto of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. Bragg will be on hand in Los Angeles to perform and lead the audience in a sing-along of his English version of Schiller's Ode to Joy accompanied by the Asia America Youth Symphony.

"In his two and a half decades of carrying the torch of social justice Billy Bragg has melded the folksy populism of Woody Guthrie with the anger and indignation of The Clash..." Mother Jones
"Regardless of how he treats his subjects, love and justice remain in good hands with Bragg-a rock ‘n' roll poet of uncommon passion and eloquence." - Crawdaddy
