Fall Out Boy to tour with Blink-182

When history is being made, multi-platinum three-time MTV VMA-winning Island Records group Fall Out Boy – whose most recent album FOLIE à DEUX has been certified RIAA gold – will be there to make it. Eleven months to the week after rolling into Denver to headline the “Rock the Vote Ballot Bash” concert at the 2008 Democratic National Convention (setting the stage for the Obama presidency) – Fall Out Boy will now join their reunited pals in Blink-182 for their first tour in five years.

In another once-in-a-lifetime moment, on July 18th, 2009 Fall Out Boy was one of the first western artists ever to perform on live TV in China . The show, roughly translated as “The Next Generation” and similar in style to American Idol, has an audience of approximately 60 million households. Fall Out Boy performed “I Don’t Care” and sat in as guest judges for the evening. '

They followed that up by performing at the mammoth rock festivals in Korea ( Jisan Valley ) on July 24th, and in Japan (Fuji Rock) on July 26th before picking up the Blink-182 tour on its third date, July 30th in Calgary .

In support of FOLIE à DEUX (released December 2008), Fall Out Boy has spent most of this year on the Believers Never Die Part Deux Tour, many early shows featuring 50 Cent.

FOLIE à DEUX has been shedding cuts as digital singles and airplay tracks since before its release, starting with the massive RIAA gold hit “I Don’t Care” back in September 2008. The song was named on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Best Songs Of 2008. Another single, “ America ’s Suitehearts,” was the focal point of an EP including the original version, plus a live acoustic version, a version remixed by Mark Hoppus of Blink-182, along with the “ America ’s Suitehearts” video.

By April 2009, the EP had become the #1 Alternative Album on iTunes, as well as the #4 Album overall.

On May 22nd, Fall Out Boy performed the song live on the NBC Today Show outdoor concert series. The band’s hometown Soundstage live performance in Chicago , taped in June, will air on most PBS stations this week, July 23rd and 24th, please check local listings for time and channel.

MTV VMA Best Group of 2007, Fall Out Boy have built up a loyal following through relentless touring; performing more than 1,200 shows since their inception in 2000. The band’s 2007 RIAA double-platinum release Infinity On High debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and included five singles and radio tracks: “This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race,” “The Carpal Tunnel Of Love,” “Thnks fr th Mmrs,” “The Take Over, The Breaks Over,” and “I’m Like a Lawyer With the Way I’m Always Trying To Get You Off (Me & You).”

It was the follow-up to From Under The Cork Tree, their 3 million worldwide-selling Island debut of 2005, which spent 72 weeks on the Billboard 200 albums chart and spun off “Sugar, We’re Going Down” (MTV2 Award winner for 2005), “Dance, Dance” (MTV VMA Viewers Choice Award for 2006), and “A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More ‘Touch Me’.”

In April 2008, Fall Out Boy’s RIAA platinum “****Live In Phoenix,” their first long-form CD+DVD two-disc package debuted at #1 on the Billboard Music Video Sales chart.

Mark Hoppus is a great person. I met him and he was so cool. Very funny, great musician, a friend and a great father. Nothing more you can ask. May God continue blessing him, his family and his band.

Blink-182 and Fall Out Boy is definitely a killer combo. I'm actually working with the tour and if you want the chance to see Blink-182 and FOB, you should check out this contest: http://statefarmphotos.com/182/sweeps/.

The winner (plus a guest) will win a trip to Charlotte, NC to attend the Blink-182/FOB concert on October 1st. And on top of that, the winner will also win Travis Barker's 1966 Cadillac Coupe de Ville!

Hope everyone going to the tour this summer/fall has a blast!
