The Christmas Foundation (www.xmasps.org) was formed in November 1996 at a Palm Springs coffeehouse and benefits underprivileged children as well as children infected and affected by HIV in the Coachella Valley and. Previously known as The Christmas List for Kids Program, the Foundation is supported by the community, customers, and employees of the Village Pride Coffeehouse. In 2009 alone The Christmas Foundation was able to bring wishes to 900 children.

Most of the children are referred by Social Workers and Case Managers from local community based organizations in Coachella Valley. One of the primary goals of The Christmas Foundation is to help send children infected or affected by HIV disease to Camp Heartland, which allows children from throughout the U.S. to gather in a safe and nurturing camp environment with those similarly affected by HIV.
