Scottish Fiddlers of LA to perform in Pasadena April 3

Scottish Fiddlers of Los Angeles Rock the Pasadena Library April 3
Free Community Concert at Pasadena Central Library’s Wright Auditorium

The Scottish Fiddlers of Los Angeles will present an afternoon of fiery fiddle music at a free community concert on Sunday April 3 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Pasadena Central Library’s Wright Auditorium. A lively program of marches, strathspeys, reels and jigs in the Scottish tradition will be performed by the Pasadena-based orchestra featuring fiddles, cellos, basses, guitars, clarinets, drums, piano and Gaelic singers.

Internationally known Scottish fiddle performer, instructor, and competition judge Jan Tappan will direct the 40-member orchestra. Two-time U.S. Scottish Fiddle Champion Colyn Fischer and pianist Shauna Pickett-Gordon, of the Celtic music duo Peat-Fire Flame, will join the Fiddlers as special guest performers.

For 29 years the Scottish Fiddlers of Los Angeles have entertained audiences throughout Southern California with the energetic music of Scotland, the Shetland Islands, Cape Breton Island and Ireland. Professionals and amateurs alike comprise the Scottish Fiddlers of Los Angeles who are brought together by the joy of playing the lilting melodies and hard driving rhythms of Scottish music and sharing the experience with the public. Members range in age from pre-teen to seniors.

Advance tickets for this popular event can be obtained by emailing info@scottishfiddlers.org. A limited number of seats will available at the door for guests without advance tickets. The Pasadena Central Library is located at 285 E. Walnut Street. Parking is available in the University of Phoenix parking lot directly behind the library.
