For fans of Rick Braun, Trumpeter, his new project, ...Sings with Strings may seem like big departure. But its been in the back of Braun's mind for years. The recently released album features him on a collection of great American and international standards, backed by an orchestra, and fulfills a lifelong ambition. While he debuted his vocal talents at Berks Jazz Festival last April with a full symphony orchestra, Braun will sing “without strings” backed by a quartet featuring Philippe Saisse (album producer/arranger ) on piano, Joe LaBarbera on drums, Reggie Hamilton on acoustic bass and John Chiodini on guitar.
