Jonathan Coulton continues tour

Jonathan Coulton speaks to the outcast in all of us, in the voices of characters we know from our own sad little lives. His ability to turn unusual subject matter into ultra-catchy pop songs has earned him praise from the media as well as a fervent fanbase. On January 23rd, Jonathan will take the stage at the Bell House in Brookyln for the first of a series of live performances of NPR’s live game show, “Ask Me Another.” Recorded in front of a live audience, the show will bring together trivia, puzzles, and music—and its contestants will consist of audience members. Alongside host Ophira Eisenberg,Coulton will host some of the games, provide musical clues, and offer wise cracks as needed. After participating in this exciting event, Coulton will continue his path to global domination as he goes back out on tour with They Might Be Giants for a national US tour this winter.

In mid-February, Jonathan Coulton and TMBG’s John Flansburgh will take part in the second annual Joco Cruise Crazy II, a 7-day cruise of the Caribbean with daily performances. Additional entertainment guests this year include John Hodgeman, MC Frontalot, David Rees, The Long Winters' John Roderick and more. The tour will wrap up with a homecoming show at Terminal 5 in NYC.

Artificial Heart, Jonathan Coulton’s first album of all new material since his infamous 2006 “Thing A Week” series, was released in November 2011 to incredible response. In addition to selling over $100,000 in special pre-sale packages on his website, the album hit #1 on the Billboard Heatseeker Chart. The album features guest musicians including Suzanne Vega, John Roderick of The Long Winters, Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara and John Flansburgh of They Might Be Giants, who produced the record. Coulton recently released a video for album track “Je Suis Rick Springfield,” which is about a man claiming to be Rick Springfield in order to pick up women at a bar.
