World’s First, Largest, and Longest Running Halloween Event Celebrates 40 Years of Fears
What started as a few decorations and some hidden talent in Knott's peek-ins in Ghost Town now embodies the Halloween season in Southern California - Knott's Scary Farm and the infamous Halloween Haunt. The event which has welcomed millions of visitors over the years is turning 40, and the celebration which kicks off on September 21st, promises to be killer. Knott's Halloween Haunt continues to be the leader in theme park Halloween events and the anniversary celebration promises to go where Knott's Halloween Haunt has never gone before with the debut of an interactive maze, new characters and surprises around every corner.
Haunt is available on select nights Sept 21 through Oct 31. Haunt is a special ticket event not covered by regular Knott’s Berry Farm admission or a Knott’s Season Pass.  Ticket prices are $36 - $52 presale online and $60 day of event.

Camp Spooky for Kids

Vampirate's Are Back at Pirate’s Dinner Adventure 
Celebrate this October at Pirate's Dinner Adventure Annual Masquerade Ball where you're invited to dress up and participate in the Masquerade Costume Parade and Contest. This exciting night of spectacle and adventure also includes a delicious 4-course meal. However, heed this warning; be watchful of your surroundings these cursed halls are said to have housed many evil Vampire's in years past. 56th Annual Silverado Days  - October 19-21 
Silverado Days at William Peak Park draws over 80,000 people over a 3-day period. The festival is sponsored by the Buena Park Noon Lions Club, and this shindig raises thousands of dollars for local charities every year. Last year there were 16 food booths, 20 game booths, 90 arts and crafts booth and 30 carnival rides to share with your family and friends. Featured contests include World Amateur Arm Wrestling Championship, Amateur Horseshoe Contest, Pie-Eating Contest, Hog Calling, Baby Contest, Dog Show, Chili Cook-off and much more. "Memories of Mexican Schools" Exhibit 
Come and experience a fascinating peak into the history of California's education system at the newly opened exhibit at the California Welcome Center- Orange County. "Memories of Mexican Schools" is an interactive and educational exhibit featuring recorded stories of those who attended segregated schools over 70 years ago. The details are authentic, but the voices are re-created by local actors for clarity. Created by the Museum of Teaching & Learning and California State University, Fullerton's Center for Oral & Public History.  The exhibit is open every day 9 am to 5 pm now through October 15, 2012.  Admission is free.
