Levitt Pavilions offer free concerts through Aug. 25

LEVITT L.A. AND LEVITT PASADENA’S FREE CONCERT SERIES AUGUST LINEUP
The final month of the Levitt Pavilion’s free concert series includes celebration of Radiotron and the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s album, Dark Side of the Moon

                        Los Angeles  
August 1 –Nomadic Massive – 8 p.m. A truly multicultural hip-hop drop, they perform in 5 languages! Their most recent album was recorded between Montreal & Havana and has hints of jazz, reggae & more.
August 8 –Garifuna Collective – 8 p.m. An ensemble of musicians from Afro-Ameridian Garifuna areas in Latin American, their music is filled with rich & soulful melodies that preserve the rich Garifuna culture.
August 9 –Double G’s String Quartet – 8 p.m. Led by saxophonist/composer/conductor “Double G”, you can enjoy an array of contemporary classical string quartet compositions.
August 11 Radiotron – 8 p.m. An old-school b-boy/b-girl organization created to encourage creativity & healthy competition, Radiotron hosts competitions to preserve authentic hip hop dance & culture. 
August 15 –Christian Scott – 8 p.m. This young Grammy-nominated trumpet player has a mature perspective on the world of jazz. Filled with deep meaning, his songs are both emotional and enlightening.
August 25 Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon retrospective – 8 p.m.Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the release of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, experience the classic rendition of the greatest hits from this monumental record.
           
            Pasadena Concerts
August 2 –Black Mahal – 8 p.m. This 9-piece band, ft. Ustad Lal Singh Bhatti, is a global mash up. With drums, DJ's, hip-hop MC's & horns they fuse Punjabi styles with hip-hop, funk, reggaeton & more!
August 8 –Whiskey Shivers – 8 p.m. They've taken folk & bluegrass to a whole new level tearing up the stage, rocking out on the fiddle & banjo. Expect a high energy &"hardcore" music experience!
August 11 –David and Devine – 7 p.m. With Grammy award-winning songwriter David Yaden on the piano and singer Candace Devine leading on vocals this dynamic duo is a fun and upbeat pop-soul powerhouse.
August 16 –Limelight Steel Orchestra – 8 p.m. Feel the groove of the island of Trinidad, the birthplace of Calypso, with this steel drum ensemble. Have a "lime", or a good time moving, to the rhythms of their sweet sounds.
August 24 –Quetzal – 8 p.m. Grammy winners of the 2013 Best Latin Alternative Album their music is filled with passion & emotion. Merging Latin Folk & American roc elements, it's a musical journey.
