Curt Smith of Tears for Fears to perform solo in L.A.

Legendary singer/songwriter Curt Smith, co-founder of seminal pop group Tears
for Fears, will give his first-Jever Los Angeles solo concerts exclusively at The
Cactus Lounge in The Standard, Hollywood, where he'll be in residence on
Tuesday evenings in October. Performances will be October 7, 14, 21 and 28
from 7pm-10pm.

Smith will perform two semi-acoustic sets each night, drawn largely from his
recent solo album Halfway, pleased, and will also include a few Tears for Fears
favorites. Indie 103.1 radio personality Darren Revell, host of the station's
popular show "Big Sonic Heaven," will be on hand to DJ before and between
Smith's sets.

"Releasing my first solo album in a decade was tremendously gratifying as an
artist," notes Smith, "and performing these songs before a live audience, in my
adopted hometown, will be even more gratifying. As soon as Halfway, pleased
came out I thought about doing a residency where I could really connect with the
audience, so when the opportunity came up to play The Cactus Lounge I said
'yes' immediately."

"We're thrilled to be presenting Curt's first L.A. solo appearances," said Valida
Carroll, music coordinator for The Standard, Hollywood. "The relaxed ambiance
of the Cactus Lounge is the perfect complement to his lush, intimate songs."

There is no admission charge to enter The Cactus Lounge, but seating is limited
and reservations strongly recommended. The Standard is located at 8300 Sunset
Boulevard in West Hollywood, telephone (323) 650-9090, x2921. 21 and over.

Curt Smith's solo album Halfway, pleased (KOOK Media) is available now from
iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby and other online retailers. For more information, visit
