Tejano music convention in Vegas August 12 & 13
Caesars Entertainment Corporation, the world's largest casino-entertainment company, recently partnered with top Hispanic branded-content company, LatinPointe, to bring the national Tejano Music Convention back to Las Vegas for three years beginning in 2011. The Tejano Music Convention continues to be one of the largest Latino music events of its kind in the United States. For the past eight years it has served as a “meeting ground” to join both fans and industry leaders of the American Latin music genre. “Caesars Entertainment is very enthusiastic about its partnership with LatinPointe and is very excited to host the Tejano Music Convention and reintroduce this grassroots music event to Las Vegas,” said Fred Keeton, Vice President Finance, External Affairs and Chief Diversity Officer at Caesars. “The event will be a wonderful addition to all of the work and services Caesars already provides to culturally enrich the communities it serves.” The 2011 music convention will take place on August 12 and 13 at Bally’s Las Vegas and is expected to draw more than 5,000 participants during the weekend. The Tejano Music Convention is comprised of music concerts and dances in a nightly Vegas-style extravaganza, artist showcases, fanfare and Expo, fan and industry workshops/seminars, and dance instruction. This year’s headliners include Grammy and Latin Grammy award-winning artists: Jimmy Gonzalez Y Grupo Mazz, Flaco Jimenez, Elida Reyna, Los Tex-Maniacs and Chente Barrera. Other award-winning musicians scheduled to attend include Shelly Lares, Los Desperadoz, Avizo and the Hometown Boys, along with Tejano legends Agustin Ramirez, Alfonso Ramos, Mingo Saldivar and Jessy Serrata rounding out this year’s roster. “With its substantial commitment to the many communities it serves, including the burgeoning Latin community in Las Vegas, Caesars is the perfect partner to help us in expand the Tejano Music Convention’s reach and appeal,” said Sarah Ruiz Chavez, President of LatinPointe. “We look forward to a long and successful partnership in the years to come.” LatinPointe’s Tejano Music Convention was first developed and introduced in Las Vegas where it remained for four years until moving to Texas in 2008.
