Fabian Alsutany has spent his life bridging gaps. A first-generation American of Arabic and Hispanic decent,
he was initiated into culture bending at birth. He is a diehard advocate of presenting diverse and eclectic musical
sounds, from alternative and straight rock 'n roll to traditional African, qawwali and global electronica, alongside
everything in between. His former company, Uprise Productions & Management, spanned the gamut of nations
as he worked with prime musicians from varied lands: Morocco, India, America, Europe, South America,
and wherever else you'll find a heartbeat or drum.

Salman Khan gets mobbed wherever he goes, "like the Beatles." Comic actor Boman Irani felt like an old pal. In spite of his "bad ass" image,
next-gen actor Neil Nitin Mukesh is really "sweet." Soap star Smriti Irani, who dominated the role of the saintly housewife, worked at
McDonald's when she was first starting out.

Mark Bennington gleaned these bits-and-pieces after spending his recent months chasing after Bollywood stalwarts and newcomers.
No, he's not India's most avid autograph-seeker. Instead, he's trying to capture a moment in their lives for his documentary photograph
y project "Living the Dream." The book, when it's finished, will feature 114 portraits, each accompanied by an anecdote about trying to
make it—and having made it—in Bollywood.

So far, the actor-turned-photographer has managed to shoot and interview 110 people, from big screen names both past and present like
Salman Khan, Irrfan Khan, Anupam Kher and Hema Malini to theater personality Lilette Dubey and character actor Vijay Raaz to recent
arrivals to Mumbai, home to India's Hindi movie industry.

"It's just thinking of this acting community as a tree," Mr. Bennington said in an interview, adding that the entire book, which he hopes to
bring out by early 2012, will represent "every branch" on that tree.
