Los Angeles' The Airborne Toxic Event have earned their reputation as an aggressive touring act, known for playing more than 350 dates in support of their 2008 acclaimed debut album release. In addition to the live show, the band recently performed on NBC's The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. The band have already played on The Tonight Show earlier this year, as well as having appeared on CBS's The Late Show With David Letterman, Conan, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and CBS's Last Call With Carson Daly.
All At Once was released in May on Island/Def Jam to resounding praise. BBC calls it "a crushing classic," while SPIN says it is "the rock'n'roll equivalent of a tear-soaked novella." This is joined by a choir of praise from the band's hometown of Los Angeles, with KCRW calling the album "passionate, dynamic, anthemic...their expansive sound is too large to be contained." "Changing" the album's first single was a juggernaut at alternative radio, landing at #4 on the format's chart.
Tokyo Police Club embarked on their “Ten Songs, Ten Hours, Ten Days, Ten Years” project last month. The band recorded ten cover songs from the years 2001-2010 over the course of ten days-- rehearsing, recording, mixing, and releasing one song each day for ten days straight. The results were premiered on EntertainmentWeekly.com, AlternativePress.com, Spinner.com and more. Earlier this year, the group released a deluxe edition of their acclaimed sophomore album, Champ, earning excellent reviews from The New York Times and NPR to Alternative Press and Pitchfork.
Doug Martsch has led Built To Spill since 1992. In the nearly two decades since, the group has featured a fluid collection of musicians that have contributed to the band’s noted live shows and acclaimed albums, setting benchmarks for the then emerging indie rock scene. They released their first full-length, Ultimate Alternative Wavers, a year later. 1996 saw their Warner Brothers debut, Perfect From Now On. For 1999’s Keep It Like A Secret, Jim Roth joined the band as live co-guitarist. Their most recent album, There Is No Enemy, appeared in October 2009.
Delta Spirit has wowed festival crowds coast to coast this year, performing at Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza and Coachella. While on the road, the band has started work on their next album. The Long Beach, CA quartet released both The Waits Room EP and their History From Below full-length last year, and watched their profile rise considerably. The band performed on NPR’s syndicated World Café Live show as well as KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic in Los Angeles.
