AFRO FUNKE' LIVE PRESENTS

IZZY*WISE featuring MC RAI
San Francisco based izzy*wise aka Isaac Weiser first started performing music in his
Dad's Klezmer band as a teenager. As the multi instrumentalist began learning new instruments
and collecting records, so came the influx of different styles and cultures of music. Having
played in many bands performing reggae, afrobeat, funk, rock, hip hop, klezmer, drum n bass,
and latin styles this versatile performer began producing his own music and djing in 2007.
Combining his knowledge of multiple instruments, sound reinforcement, and his love of
mixing music from different cultures, we now have the electro world dub mashup that is
izzy*wise's music.

A member of the legendary Afrolicious party crew, izzy*wise plays and collaborates with
many different musicians and groups, and is tending a growing discography including 11
vinyl releases. He has performed internationally in Spain, Nicaragua, Colombia, Peru, Mexico,
United States, and Canada. Some notable groups are: LoCura, Afrolicious, MC Rai, Lucky Brown
and the Funk Revolution, Pleasuremaker Band, Ocote Soul Sounds, Makru, Mophono Halftone
Society, Sureshot Symphony, J Boogie, Nickodemus, and DJ Smash.

He has also had the pleasure of opening for many heroes and talents including: Novalima,
Culture, Arrested Development, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Ocote Soul Sounds,
Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and many more!!

EASY STAR ALL-STARS
"THRILLAH"
Easy Star All-Stars are almost ten years into a series of releases that began with an attempt to
transform an entire album – Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon – into reggae. At the time, the
band was one of the few artists who had ever tried covering or re-arranging a whole album, but
in the nine years since Dub Side Of The Moon’s 2003 release, this trend has become bigger and
bigger, with major music festivals building must-see events from the concept and labels releasing
numerous records across different genres replicating it. Since 2003, Easy Star All-Stars have
tackled two more classic records (Radiodread (2006) from Radiohead’s OK Computer and
Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band(2009) from The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s), along with
two albums worth of original songs and a remix of Dub Side of the Moon. They have grown
into an international touring phenomenon, playing on 6 continents in over 30 countries.
So when they settled in to make their next tribute album, they kept circling back to one in
particular: The Greatest Selling Album of All Time – Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
