It’s been a busy 2012 for multi-platinum artists Counting Crows who announced today plans for their nationwide Fall tour which kicks off on October 23, 2012 in Port Chester, NY, hitting some of the best theaters across the country including NY’s famed Roseland Ballroom. The band will hit The Wiltern stage in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 24. Tickets go on sale Friday, November 14 at 10 AM. For tickets, on sale info and VIP package offerings for the tour please visit www.countingcrows.com and www.livenation.com.
The announcement comes on the heels of the release earlier this year of their critically-acclaimed album, Underwater Sunshine (Collective Sounds/Sony RED), a sold out spring tour that took them to audiences nationwide, an exclusive BITTTORENT music bundle which offered fans never before heard tracks, and a North American indie rock showcase tour which had them back out on the road showcasing their favorite indie musicians through the summer. Never a band to slow down, Counting Crows are excited to hit the road again for their all-encompassing Fall tour.
"This summer on 'The Outlaw Roadshow,' was the best time I've ever had on tour. When you watch great bands play killer sets every night it makes you want to go out and play even better sets yourself," said frontman Adam Duritz. "It's not competition, it's just...rock & roll is a drug and watching great bands gets you high. The fans reap the benefits of that every night. Going out this Fall with Mean Creek and Tender Mercies is going to be a hell of a ride. Plus, we promised the people in the South and the West that we were coming back this year. Well...here we come."
Counting Crows hail from the San Francisco Bay area and consist of Adam Duritz (vocals), David Bryson (guitar), Charles Gillingham (keyboards), Dan Vickrey (guitar), Jim Bogios (drums), David Immergluck (guitar) and bassist Millard Powers. With over 20 million albums sold worldwide, Eight Top 5 singles, and three records having broken the Top 5 on the Billboard 200, Counting Crows success dates back to their 1993 debut release August And Everything After and the hit single “Mr. Jones.” The band’s most recent accomplishments include a # 1 hit with the song “Accidentally In Love,” which was featured on the Shrek 2 soundtrack, as well as nominations in 2005 for a Grammy Award, a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award for the track. In 2004 the band released their first ever “Best Of” set Films About Ghosts which featured songs from every phase of the Counting Crow’s recording career and in 2006 a live record was released, *New Amsterdam: Live at Heineken Music Hall 2003, while the band ventured out on a summer tour. Their most recent album, Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings was released to critical and popular acclaim in March 2008. www.countingcrows.com
