September 16 - Your Shimmyshowcase for this mid-September Sunday features an abundance of talent. Guest dancers Kamar, Aianna, Lydia, and Erica are sure to please you, and if that isn’t enough, we have Draca in the role of coordinator! We know this wonderful cast of performers will delight everyone who comes down to Viento y Agua, so please mark your calendars and be sure to join us.

Everyone is invited for a relaxing evening among friends. Select your favorite beverage, hot or cold, from an assortment of coffees, teas, smoothies or juice; add to that a tasty sandwich or pastry; and then seat yourself in the entertainment area to enjoy some really great dancing at NO cover charge!
SHIMMY SHOWCASE begins on most Sundays at 5:30 p.m. at Viento y Agua Coffee House in Long Beach at 4007 East 4th Street; 562-434-1182. Please refer to the detailed schedule below for more information about upcoming showcases and performance opportunities.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before show time (30 min if you’re a performer!), so you can stop at the refreshment counter to get a delicious beverage, snack or sandwich; then head for the show area and grab a seat so you don’t miss any of our great performers!

September 23 – Mimmee La Fleur (aka Saviya) presents another popular Shimmyshowcase theme with “A Touch of Burlesque.” Think back to those days when Burlesque had its beginnings, when a glimpse of a thigh was scintillating, and shimmies scandalous. We have Dalilah, Meryem Vani, LaLa, Nova Kachina, and Sakura del Mar (aka Bella) lined up to tantalize you with their fusion of vintage burlesque and belly dancing. To avoid any misconceptions, please note the same “G-Rated” guidelines for all Shimmyshowcase programs apply to this one as well; in other words, we always welcome audience members of any age from 1 to 100!
September 30 - From Disco to Peace, Love and Happiness, come get your groove on with Ilana at this Shimmyshowcase. Dancers, whether you’re 60’s love child or a disco queen from the 70’s, this Shimmyshowcase is for you! Guest dancers Rosé, Daa-Uud, and LoriLie are already set to boogie –Shimmyshowcase style! October 7 – NO SHIMMYSHOWCASE
October 14 - It’s party time as Draca returns to celebrate her birthday with sister coordinator Saviya performing for the occasion, along with Aileen!
