Wiz Khalifa to tour

Rostrum/Atlantic recording artist Wiz Khalifa has announced details of his upcoming “2050 Tour,” which kicks off on October 12 at the Bryce Jordan Center in State Park, PA and runs through the middle of December. The “2050 Tour” will see the Pittsburgh rapper taking his electrifying stage show to venues throughout North America alongside Taylor Gang members Juicy J, Chevy Woods, Lola Monroe, Tuki Carter and Berner. Tickets for the 36-city tour go on sale this Friday, September 7th via Wiz’s official website, www.wizkhalifa.com. Additional dates for the “2050 Tour” will be announced next week.

What’s more, Wiz will present a moon man at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, airing this Thursday, September 6th, live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Adding to all this excitement, “Work Hard, Play Hard,” the Benny Blanco & Stargate-produced first single from Wiz’s highly-anticipated new sophomore album “O.N.I.F.C.,” has reached Platinum status, with sales exceeding 1 million units. To celebrate this amazing achievement, Wiz released an official remix to “Work Hard, Play Hard,” which features rappers Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy.

“O.N.I.F.C.” is the follow-up to Wiz Khalifa’s gold-certified major label debut, “ROLLING PAPERS,” which was released in March 2011, and spawned the multi-platinum hits “Black And Yellow,” “Roll Up” and “No Sleep.” Wiz earned himself two nominations at this year’s Grammy Awards thanks to his breakout hit “Black And Yellow,” in both the “Best Rap Song” and “Best Rap Performance” categories. Khalifa then joined forces with Snoop Dogg for “Mac And Devin Go To High School Soundtrack,” the collaborative soundtrack album for the film “Mac And Devin Go To High School.” The album featured the hit single “Young, Wild & Free (feat. Bruno Mars),” which has gone on to become 3x-certified Platinum, and has peaked at #7 on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart. Wiz kicked off 2012 with a high-profile campaign with Bing, where he was featured in the search engine’s nationwide commercials.
