Emmy Award-winning multimedia musician Peter Buffett will launch his new Concert and Conversation series with a special event at The Paley Center for Media (formerly The Museum of Television & Radio) on Friday, October 3rd. Subscribers to the Paley Center’s PaleyAfterDark series will have the unique opportunity to mingle with both Peter and his father, noted investor Warren Buffett, at the private rooftop reception preceding the event. More information is available at www.paleycenter.org
The Concert and Conversation series spotlights Peter Buffett’s extensive background in music, punctuated with stories about his philanthropic and life experiences as the son of one of the foremost financial minds in the U.S. As part of his Concert and Conversation, he will play, sing and share exclusive videos of his work and philanthropic activities in an informal setting.
An acclaimed composer for advertising (MTV, CNN Headline News, Coca-Cola), television documentaries (CBS’ 500 Nations), films (Dances with Wolves) and popular music (collaborating in music and social action with international recording artist Akon), Buffett will be presenting an entertaining and informative look at the things he was taught, the lessons he’s learned, and their effect in creating the man he’s become.
The evening will also feature Buffett performing some selections from his upcoming album, Imaginary Kingdom (BeSide Records), scheduled for release September 23rd.
This fall, Buffett will take this show on the road to concert and lecture halls including November 5th at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
Social action and philanthropy are very important to Buffett. In addition to his work as a musician, he is co-chair of NoVo Foundation, a charitable non-profit organization with more than $1 billion pledged by his father. In addition, he recently collaborated with Akon who produced and sang on a remix of Peter’s song “Anything” from his previous album Staring at the Sun. In June, Buffett and Akon launched a website www.IsThereSomethingICanDo.com to promote social action through social networking.
