As a Chicago-born DJ/producer/designer/guitarist/human, Sole has been making beats since the MPC 60 was born, deejaying since rotary crossfaders were the standard, and playing clubs since he was too young to (legally) get in. Since then his obsession grew to include music from around the world.

As Co-Founder and resident deejay of Afro Funke', J.Sole and his partners Rocky Dawuni and Cary Sullivan produce an event that brings a diverse mix of music lovers together each week at the Zanzibar in Santa Monica. Blending Afrobeat, Funk, Reggae, Latin and Brazilian; Afro Funke' has hosted hundreds of international guest performers over the years, from Rich Medina and Cut Chemist to impromptu jam sessions with Zap Mama and Stevie Wonder. Every week is a future memory.

In April 2006, Sole spent a few months making music for Lauryn Hill. The first things he told him after hearing him DJ was "Have you ever thought about getting into radio because THIS is the music that the people need to hear". Exactly one year later, Anne Litt from KCRW called, asking him that exact same question, and now you can catch J.Sole on 89.9 KCRW every Wednesday from midnight-3 am. As a musician and producer, Sole uses the word ""Musaics" as both an artist alias and a conceptual approach; removing beats and samples from their original context, and juxtaposing them as a form of mosaic music. His past "Musaics" have been released on Om Records' Deep Concentration compilations, and also featured Garth Trinidad on "A Call To Action"; the opening track of the re:BOOT compilation (Om/NextAid), raising funds and awareness for the children orphaned by AIDS in Africa.www.myspace.com/musaicswww.myspace.com/branchesradio

DJ GLENN RED
In his serene and softspoken way, Glenn Red is quietly forging a loyal following among fans of eclectic music, steadily moving crowds in many of the west coast's favorite venues. His typical deejay sets -- rhythmic patchworks of organic sounds rooted in rock, soul and funk -- strive to bring the warmth and honesty sometimes lacking in today's dance floor culture. Glenn hopes that his records and lifelong love of music will inspire good feelings, positivity, and a bit of body movin' when he steps up to the decks.

In addition to being part of the westside's AFRO FUNKE' SOUND SYSTEM, Glenn has been a resident selector at Santa Monica's BUMP BUMP weekly and has played alongside the fine resident deejays at LA's Soul Sessions, Custom Sundaze, Mothership and Tropicali events in 2008. AFRICAN DANCE by DEBORAH DAUDA
Deborah Dauda, a native of Nigeria, is currently studying International Development Studies, with an emphasis on Africa and Public Health at UCLA. She attributes her strengths and passion in dance to God and her beautiful family. She began dancing in her mother’s womb, for “dancing begins in the womb as the fetus swims freely in the amniotic fluid”. She is influenced by artists such as Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Dr.Alban,Angelique Kidjo, Paul Van Dyk, Lagbaja, Daddy Showkey, Rabiu Ayandokun, Youssouf N' Dour, King Sunny Ade, Oliver deCoque, and Awilo Logomba to mention a few.

Before immigrating to the United States in 2001, she performed at different cultural productions in schools and in her community. Since then, her career in West African style dance has flourished. She recently performed at the 2008 UCLA Jazz-Reggae Festival with Pangea Collective and Legendary Nigerian artists: Baba Ken Okunlolo and Soji Soji Odukogbe, and at the Mami Wata Festival at UCLA with Balobi Bandeko. She currently performs with the LA based Congolese band: Balobi Bandeko and works with DJ Nnamdi Moweta from KPFK 90.7 Radio Afrodicia in the Los Angeles area. www.myspace.com/omo_lepa
