Combichrist readying new release

Metropolis recording artists COMBICHRIST are gearing up for the release of TODAY WE ARE ALL DEMONS on January 20, 2009. Recorded in Totprod Studios in Atlanta, GA and produced by Andy LePlegua (also the mastermind behind the band), their fourth studio album welds fearsome industrial techno with modern electro rhythms and textures.

"It's by far my most personal album to date," explains Andy. "I finally feel I have captured the spirit of Combichrist."

Immersed not only in the trademark fire and burn of Combichrist of yore but adding a newfound sense of urgency and dynamics, Today We Are All Demons sees the band meshing old sounds with new, creating a whole new direction for the band.

From the propulsive and expansive “All Pain Is Gone” to the sultry aggro stomp of “Can’t Change the Beat” to the dancefloor pummel of Kickstart the Fight" (featuring the guest vocals of Gen of Genitorturers), to the jackhammer-pound of “Get Out of My Head”, the album rips through beats, bass and rhythm, creating a hybrid genre that crisscrosses rock, metal, industrial, and underground dance.

"Sent to Destroy", the first single and video from the album, originally made its appearance on the Frost EP that was released in July 2008.

No strangers to Billboard's charts, the EP debuted on the Top Singles Chart at #8 and the Dance Chart at #5 and remains on both charts today. The previous EP Get Your Body Beat entered the Dance Chart at #5 and Top Singles Chart at #30.

In Andy's native Europe, their EP Sex, Drogen Und Industrial topped the German Alternative Charts at Number One for seven weeks straight. Their previous releases had similar outstanding charting stories as well.

Starting off in the dark metal and hardcore soul of Norway, Andy LePlegua led a few seminal bands in the Norwegian underground (including the influential Icon of Coil) before fusing electronics and dance beats and forming Combichrist in 2003 and releasing their incredibly well-respected EBM/Industrial debut The Joy of Gunz (2003). The two following albums - Everybody Hates You and What The F*&$ Is Wrong With You People? - witnessed the band's evolution of their self-described "techno body music", which was described as "a journey through hell and high water, through the eyes of a serial killer, sex, violence and plenty of Jack Daniels on ice."

"I wanted more of everything, and everything seemed to just fall into place without making any compromises," explains Andy about the new album.

Today We Are All Demons hits stores on January 20, 2009 via Metropolis Records. A national tour in early 2009 will be announced shortly.
