CMA Awards to air on CMT Nov. 28

Fans get a chance to relive Country Music’s Biggest Night™ when CMT hosts the cable premiere of the “42nd Annual CMA Awards” on Saturday, November 29 at 9:00 p.m. – 12:00 midnight, ET/PT, which aired live from Nashville on ABC last week. It was a night of celebration for country music’s biggest stars as the industry awarded the top achievers in the genre.

First-time hosts and reigning Male and Female Vocalists Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood expertly guided the evening with poise and humor. The show included performances by Trace Adkins, Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, The Eagles, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Paisley, George Strait, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Underwood, Keith Urban, and The Wailers. Rapper Lil Wayne showed up not to rap, but rather to rock out with Kid Rock on “All Summer Long” in perhaps the most unexpected appearance of the night.

Upon winning his fourth trophy for Entertainer of the Year, Kenny Chesney warmly accepted his award from superstar Shania Twain in yet another surprise appearance. Special Hollywood guests included Miley Cyrus, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, along with other presenters Billy Ray Cyrus, Vince Gill, Julianne Hough, Lil Wayne, Heidi Newfield, Jake Owen, John Rich, Taylor Swift, Josh Turner, Jimmy Wayne and Lee Ann Womack.
