Dj Paul Oakenfold collaborates with Madonna

World-renowned producer and DJ Paul Oakenfold has been one of the few figures in dance music to have-made an indelible impact on modern day popular culture. From being credited as the main catalyst of the dance music revolution that took hold of the UK in the late 1980’s, to bringing DJ sets to stadiums via his opening slots for major pop acts such as U2, to remixing artists as diverse as Radiohead, Justin Timberlake and The Rolling Stones, the UK-born Oakenfold has consistently been recognized as an artist able to spread the gospel of club music beyond the confines of club culture.

Reaffirming this fact, legendary Queen of Pop Madonna -- renowned for her impeccable taste and ground breaking choice of collaborations with the worlds best producers -- recruited Paul to produce brand new material for her forthcoming greatest hits album (slated for Sept ’09).

"Cutting edge sounds combined with classic Madonna," says Oakenfold of the new songs.

Oakenfold is also set to embark on a lengthy world tour this summer that will cross 25 countries in just over two months, which includes opening for Madonna on all of her “Sticky & Sweet” UK and European dates.Back in the summer of 2008 Oakenfold also launched a groundbreaking weekly residency at the Palms Hotel & Casino called simply, “Perfecto Vegas.”

Conceived by the Maloof brothers and their nightlife team in conjunction with Oakenfold himself, “Perfecto Vegas” has brought a grandiose, Ibizan-styled club experience to arguably the hippest locale in Vegas for the first time. To commemorate the ongoing success of the night, Thrive Records is set to release "Perfecto Vegas" on July 14th. This double CD set consists of 21 exclusive tracks, hand selected and mixed by Oakenfold. The set focuses on the less pop leaning, “classic Oakenfold” sound that core fans have been begging for since his Grammy-nominated 2004 release, Creamfields.

Along with an extensive tour with Madonna, Oakenfold will also co-headline such major summer festival dates as Wireless in the UK, Red Rocks and the Electric Daisy Carnival at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Touted as being one of the most versatile artists in the business, Oakenfold has built up an impressive resume composing music for film, TV, and video games. Most recently, he has scored The Bourne Conspiracy video game, composed the theme to the hit TV show Big Brother, and contributed tracks to the upcoming Jerry Bruckheimer film G-Force.Oakenfold continues to work on his new original studio album, Pop Killer, which will be released in 2010. The project already features collaborations with The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, and Ce-Lo. His previous two solo releases have sold over 2 million units combined.

Perfecto Vegas is available nationwide in stores and online July 14th 2009.
