Songalive! showcase Friday

Had a long week? What can be better than to relax Friday night in a cool venue, great food, and great live music? Songsalive! LA has reinvented TGIF!!

Songsalive! Los Angeles Showcase at Hallenbecks
Featuring talented songwriters from around the globe, the Songsalive! Showcases are the best industry secret, a great happening all around the world. Songsalive! Showcases are a very cozy, intimate and acoustic environment where media and music industry representatives often drop by to check out the latest talent. Showcase your music and support our Songsalive! national and international live events and showcases presenting songwriters and artists of original music. Showcases are conducted globally.

ABOUT THE SHOWCASE: The Songsalive! Los Angeles Showcase features a new venue, a new date, and a new format! Songsalive returns to Hallenbeck's after a couple of years. Hallenbeck's is an well known venue for acoustic Los Angeles Songwriters and performers - they have a small stage with a great sound system, great food and drinks, it is family friendly too, with free parking on the street.

ARTISTS: We have four performers who will be doing sets in two rounds - so nice you hear them all twice! And we'll have a short intermission in the middle for food, stretching, and conversation.


Lisa O'Kane
Lisa O’Kane’s talent and strength have gotten her to where she is today. Her third cd It Don't Hurt features stellar musicians such as Albert Lee, Kenny Edwards and Emmy Award winning Ernest Troost. She recently won the The Great American Song Contest with her new song "Fadin' Away". She also placed in the top 10 in the Indie International Songwriting Contest for her song "Ain't Done Nothin'". This single mother of two manages to juggle the demands of school activities as well as successful touring in the United Kingdom as well as the U.S., performing to sold out audiences.

Tracy Newman
Tracy is a TV writer and producer. She has written on many shows, including Cheers, The Nanny and Drew Carey. In 1997, she won the Emmy and the prestigious Peabody Award for co-writing the “coming out” episode of Ellen. In 2001 she co-created the ABC comedy, According to Jim (Jim Belushi,) which is in its 8th season of production. Tracy has been a songwriter throughout her TV career and recently released her first CD, A Place in the Sun

Jay Matsueda
Jay Matsueda is resourceful L.A. singer songwriter who both performs solo and sometimes with L.A. session greats who he shoots professional photography for. His recorded songs are crafted with lyrical independence in mind, yet each song's meaning is accentuated by elaborate musical backdrops. First album Eat Your Sad is scheduled for a mid-September release. Music samples, photos and more at

Opening for artists like Emmy Lou Harris, Nickel Creek and Shelby Lynne…K√°dam has become musical rubix cube of acoustic pop-rock-folk with some Appalachian soul mixed in for good measure.
