Ozzfest 2010 will kick off on August 14 in San Bernardino (Ozzfest’s birthplace in 1996) and travel to Chicago, Illinois; Hartford, Connecticut; Camden, New Jersey; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Boston, Massachusetts. Playing the Second Stage will be none other than Canada’s kings of northern hyperblast, KATAKLYSM. Frontman Maurizio Iacono checks in about the band’s inclusion on Ozzfest 2010:
"We are grateful that KATAKLYSM is about to turn the clock next year to 20 years of existence. Through good and bad times, we’ve stayed strong and remained a leading force in the underground, but I never in my life thought I would be on tour with Ozzy or Mötley Crüe while being in an extreme band. One can’t help but feel amazed when legends take notice and invite you to participate on one of the world’s most important tours: OZZFEST. Thanks, of course, to the Osbournes and their organization for this great opportunity. I wanna sincerely say ‘thank you’ to our fans for being there for us and giving us a chance through their support to make KATAKLYSM a legacy. Even more important, we’re here to party hard with you guys! This is a lifestyle and we should all unite at Ozzfest to celebrate this privilege of being metalheads!”
Each Ozzfest date will include 13 bands on two stages with music beginning at 1:00 p.m. The main stage will feature OZZY, MÖTLEY CRÜE (on their first-ever Ozzfest appearance) and HALFORD (who last appeared on Ozzfest in 2004 with JUDAS PRIEST), performing songs from Rob Halford's solo career along with material from JUDAS PRIEST and FIGHT. DEVILDRIVER and NONPOINT will round out the main-stage lineup. Second-stage headliners and six-time Ozzfest veterans BLACK LABEL SOCIETY will be joined by DROWNING POOL, KINGDOM OF SORROW, GOATWHORE, SKELETONWITCH, SAVIOURS and KATAKLYSM.
