The Byrds Collective coming to the Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena in September

It's been over 40 years since the sounds of the original five Byrds played a concert in the Los Angeles area. Now the sound of the Byrds can be heard once again.

The Byrds Collective have just announced that their show Tyrn! Tyrn! Tyrn! A Tribute To The Byrds will be performed at the Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena California, this September 21, 2010. The Byrds Collective have been traveling around Southern California, performing this show for packed audiences.

The Byrds Collective recreate the sound the Byrds from 1965 to 1970 right down to the three part harmonies. The group consists of Mark Miraglia as Roger/Jim McGuinn, David Michaels as David Crosby, Ken Hearn as the late Gene Clark, Pat Hayes as Chris Hillman and David Denk portraying the late Michael Clarke.

"It was an era of incredible innovation and creativity in popular music and in our whole culture." said Dave Michaels, who portrays singer-guitarist David Crosby in the Collective. "Along with the Beatles, the Byrds were one of the driving forces of that era. Those heavenly harmonies, that jangly guitar and those fantastic songs sound just as fresh and vital today as when they were first created."

The Byrds Collective have been performing almost non-stop since March of this year.

"The audiences are really enthusiastic when they hear this music." said Pat Hayes, "It takes them back to a time when things seemed simpler and less chaotic. They really enjoy hearing some really great songs and reliving some memories."

The Byrds Collective will be performing this September 21, 2010 at the Coffee Gallery Backstage, 2029 S Lake St. Altadena, California 91001. Reservations can be made by calling (626) 794-2424.

Hey Mickie, thanks for the great write up. We're looking forward to this show and we're going to be playing some Byrds songs we haven't played in a while.
