E for Explosion offers peek listen of upcoming EP

E For Explosion are giving their fans the first taste from their upcoming self-released EP ‘Hold Grudges Not Hands’ with the release of the song “Blankets And Blonde Hair”, which can be heard on the band’s Facebook profile here http://www.facebook.com/eforexplosion.

If you’re unfamiliar with the name E For Explosion, you might recognize the origins of the band. Formed in 2007, the band was started by Jamison Covington following the breakup of his band Jamisonparker. Jamison entered the studio to record the band's first release, a self funded and self released limited edition EP titled ‘Paper Flowers’ that was only available at the band’s live shows. Featuring hand numbered DIY artwork; the EP displayed the very personal and genuine mentality E For Explosion reflects with a strong link between the music, lyrics, the band, and fans. While on the road in support of ‘Paper Flowers’ the band met and signed on with New Jersey indie label Eyeball Records.

Shortly after the signing with Eyeball Records, E for Explosion entered the studio with Jamison taking on the roles of engineer & producer alongside veteran producer & engineer Dave Trumfio (Wilco, My Morning Jacket) to create ‘Reinventing The Heartbeat’, the band's debut full-length. Released in 2008, the album built the band’s towering soundscapes upon the likes of My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus & Mary Chain along with the songwriting and pop sensibilities found in Jamison's previous releases E for Explosion set aim to cast a new shadow that reaches far beyond that of his previous successes.

The new EP, ‘Hold Grudges Not Hands’, while stripping away its shoe gaze elements promises to be a relentless venture into a world of wall of sound guitars mixed with emotionally charged lyrics and a serious dose of power pop. Mixing the best of what E for Explosion is already known for with a whole hearted return to Jamison's rock pop songwriting roots.

Having toured with everyone from Plain White T's, to Motion City Soundtrack, to Coheed & Cambria and others in his career Jamison has traveled the country and made more friends and fans than one could ever hope to in a lifetime. But now, with E For Explosion, he and his new band mates are bringing his friends and fans to a new life with them as years of songwriting, recording and performing has finally come to fruition.
