Eileen Carey in Arcadia Tuesday
Eileen Carey, Pop-Country singer/songwriter, performs a special acoustic concert as part of the "Songwriter Serenade" series at Matt Denny's Ale House, 146 E. Huntington Dr., Arcadia, Tuesday, April 12. 8:30 p.m. Free. Info: (626) 462-0250 or www.mattdennys.com. Performing with Carey are guitarists John McDuffie (Rita Coolidge) and Al Bonhomme (Dwight Yoakum). Carey took home "Producer's Choice - Dance Single of the Year" at the 2010 Los Angeles Music Awards this past November. The song that Carey won her Dance Single of the Year" award for - "Out With The Girls" - was recently remade into a country/dance song to accompany a nationwide dance club promotion. "Out With the Girls" was distributed to top dance clubs, deejays and dance instructors in the top 100 DMA markets for a 12-week rotation of club airplay, with local contests and promotions created to partner with female-oriented consumer products via traditional and new media outlets including mamapalooza.com, womensradio.com, and chicksingernight.com. Eileen's award for "Out With The Girls" - which was included on her most recent CD release, "Movin' On" (www.myrecordlabel.net) - marks the second consecutive year Eileen has garnered a plaque from the longest independent awards show of its kind (she won "Americana Album of the Year" at the LAMA's in 2009 for "Movin' On").
